Nutrition Counseling for adolescents & adults
As someone who has experienced the many ways in which an eating disorder can impact both physical and mental health, I wholeheartedly believe that recovery is possible for you. I have navigated this journey personally and now use both my lived experience and years of clinical experience in the treatment of eating disorders to help women fully recover a balanced approach to food. My counseling style harnesses the power of relationships in healing and can help you both understand the many layers that may have led to a complex relationship with food AND help you implement small, practical changes. Whether you have had years of recovery under your belt and recent life transitions or triggers are prompting you to check in and receive support or you are reaching out for the first time to share about your relationship with food, I would be honored to hear your story and help you experience food without guilt, stress or shame.
Clients who reach out to me for help say they struggle with:
* Feeling constantly preoccupied and obsessive about food and can’t seem to find a “middle ground” (it’s all or nothing)
* Feeling overwhelmed when thinking about how to choose what, how much or when to eat
* One part of them wanting to make changes AND another part that is terrified of losing the safety of the eating disorder
* Knowing if they “really have a problem” but are feeling like something needs to change
* Finding out they have been diagnosed with Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge Eating Disorder or Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (AFRID) and are not sure what type of professional support they need
