Homemade Perfect Bars

If you love Perfect Bars but don’t want to spend $4 each time you need a snack, try this DIY version I created at home.

This recipe packs in protein and healthy fats and is perfect when you need a bite of something sweet! I love NEEDED collagen powder because it is 3rd party tested (most supplements/powders are NOT which means they can put in toxic additives) and it is neutral in taste meaning it can be blended into pretty much anything.

As women, we need fat in all stages of life to help support healthy hormones, preconception, pregnancy, postpartum and beyond.

For women who are working on their relationship with food or are in eating disorder recovery, adding in fats in can be a challenge! This can be a creative way to work on incorporating fats into your diet gradually. Many of us were taught that fat was “bad” since it has a higher calorie content per gram, but I always share with my clients that fat is truly our friend and CRITICAL for us during all stages of life.

Fats help us stay satiated, keep us fuller for longer and help support optimal brain function. It’s helpful to also consider rotating the types of fats you choose! For example, you can swap in almond butter or cashew butter in this recipe since it will have different levels of micronutrients as well.

INGREDIENTS
1 cup drippy peanut butter
3 scoops @needed collagen protein (JAREN) for discount code
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
1/4 cup maple syrup or allulose sweetener

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl until combined, the mixture should be pliable and soft.
Spread mixture into parchment lined loaf pan and place in freezer for 3-4 hours until firm.
Cut into squares and store in fridge to enjoy!

These bars are a great combination of protein and fat and support balanced blood sugar & healthy hormones. If you tried them please leave a comment here or on my instagram!
